If something blocks the sea stars way of the sun it knows there's danger ahead.  Sea stars don't have brains and starfish don't have brains because they use their skin to find stuff.  Starfish have babies because sometimes people try to kill them.  Some starfish use colours to trick people.  Some sea stars and starfish are normal ones because there's colourful ones and normal ones.

We learned a lot about Maui dolphins from these two videos.

Our Maui Dolphins

As part of our learning about Maui dolphins, we made paper dolphins.  We learnt about the shape and colours of Maui dolphins.  We made our dolphins by drawing them and cutting them out, then painting two copies of the body.  When the paint was dry we stapled them together and stuffed them with shredded paper. Check them out hanging up in our classroom!
